We are very excited to announce yet another Kids Can Catch event being hosted at the Taber Trout Pond! Come out with your children so they can learn how to fish and become good stewards of responsible fishing practices! 

The Town of Taber partners with our local MNP to host this amazing event to educate new/young anglers in the area.  

2026 Event Details:

• Date: Saturday, June 20th, 2026

  • Event starts at 9am (Giving away 100 FREE fishing rods, up to 2 per family; generously sponsored by MNP)

• Location: Trout Pond (3200 Trout Pond Avenue, Taber, AB T1G 0A7)

• Lunch: 11 AM - 12 PM; free for all kids and families 

• Other Fun Details:

  • Mentors on site to help get the rookies started

  • Fish Bait provided for everyone

  • Bring your fishing gear (if you have some) and lawn chairs

  • If you don't have fishing rods, we have some to lend you

Fishing is a fun, relaxing and healthy activity for people of all ages.  Come out and join us to enjoy the Trout Pond Park!
